The Fleet Street Pub located inside Printers Alley in downtown Nashville was a very pleasant surprise for my son and I!
We ordered us a couple of waters while we looked over the extensive selection of great Ales, Stouts & Beers from around the globe. My boys and I are the adventurous types, always looking to try something new.
We had an awesome, very knowledgeable waitress who answered our many questions about the the great variety of flavors. He selected Youngs Double Chocolate Stout. She said that it was without a doubt very Chocolaty and very thick. In his usual fashion .. he said "Cool .. Let's try it". After a few minutes of sipping on it, the verdict was in. He (or actually we 'cause I tried a little sip of his) agreed, it was thick and chocolaty. Most importantly VERY GOOD!!
Now as for my taste selection. OK ... I gotta admit, I chose it for the name. I've been a Monty Python fan for many years. The movies were corny, goofy and just plain fun to watch. What does that have to do with a drink. Well.. It's called Monty Python's Holy Ale. It's got a refreshing clean taste, I may have another one next time I go back. Or .. I can do what I usually do and try something new next time .. yea .. that's it
OK ... enough talk about the drinks. I mean come on, To have alcoholic beverages in a pub is a no-brainer.
It's when we ordered food was what floored me. Fleet Street Pub serves very good food!! Don't get me wrong, It really wasn't that I expected bad food in a place like this. I just didn't expect the food to be this darn good! Even the plate presentation was very professional. One would almost think you were eating at a high end restaurant. Not a place where we had to walk down an alley, then down a dark set of steps.
